# About GreenBTC

## Face The Issue

Bitcoin has been consuming a significant amount of energy since January 3, 2009, with the majority of it being non-renewable.

## What Is GreenBTC Club

GreenBTC Club aims to green Bitcoin from January 3, 2009, onward, and all future blocks. It calculates the power usage for each block and encourages climate actors through a gamified approach to continuously green BTC blocks by on-chain offset ART.

## How To Greening

1. Select a BTC block
2. Pay with crypto currency or ART
3. Open your mystery box, to get Certificate or Seed NFT if you’re lucky
