A New Beginning, A New Mission

In 2025, GreenBTC.Club entered an exciting new phase. Having grown from Arkreen’s incubation program to an independent global community for green Bitcoin initiatives, we are planning to launch our own ecosystem token to empower this mission further. GreenBTC.Club is dedicated to addressing one of Web3’s greatest public goods challenges: eliminating Bitcoin's historical carbon footprint.

2024 in Review: Community Achievements and Growth

2024 was a transformative year for GreenBTC.Club:

• V1 saw the launch of our initial product, marking the transition from 0 to 1.

• V2 facilitated rapid community expansion from 1 to 10.

Highlights of the year include:

• 710,000 climate actions contributed by the community.

• Over 160,000 blocks greened.

• 1.1 billion kWh of Bitcoin’s historical energy consumption offset using on-chain RECs.

GreenBTC.Club has become the world’s largest retail market for RECs and the ideal demand side for small-scale, distributed solar energy assets.

Looking Ahead: Ecosystem Token and 2050 Bitcoin 100% Carbon Neutrality Goal

With the foundation for independent operations firmly established, the upcoming ecosystem token will accelerate global community engagement and green initiatives. Our ambitious goal is to achieve 100% carbon neutrality for the Bitcoin network by 2050, driving impact investments in renewable energy worldwide.

Bitcoin Climate Protocol: A Decentralized Carbon Neutrality Standard

GreenBTC.Club is more than a global community for on-chain climate action. It aims to spearhead the Bitcoin Climate Protocol, establishing a decentralized carbon neutrality standard for Bitcoin-the largest Web3 economy. This initiative will also expedite global on-chain capital flows into renewable energy investments.

The Vision Behind the Ecosystem Token

GreenBTC.Club’s ecosystem token will embody the network value of the Bitcoin Climate Protocol. It will also reward Play to Impact and Impact to Earn climate actors who contribute to GreenBTC.Club, fostering a collaborative effort to build a greener Bitcoin network.
