# What is a GEM

GEM is a special in-ecosystem currency that is no on-chain asset and is mainly used for withdrawal fees. Currently, this is their only use case, but they might also be used in future for special functions.

**How to get GEMS**

There are different ways to acquire GEMS. Currently, the main sources are from Greening on GreenBTC and from a daily reward pool in the PePe airdrop bot.
